Drawing from the Present, Lakeeren Gallery, 2014

Drawing from the Present is a large scale installation created on site at Lakeeren Gallery in Mumbai in 2014. Over the course of her three week residency, Ganesh constructed an immersive environment of ephemeral wall drawings, taking the site of the city as a point of departure in for ongoing explorations of science fiction, mythology and non-linear narrative structure. The installation's sculptural elements, including flags, antique clock gears, and armatures were sourced and produced locally. This exhibition comprises new imagery that responds to architectural elements of the city of Mumbai, complex layers of history they reveal, as a meditation on circular or mythic time.
